Up to three researcher exchange visits between network nodes are available during our first fiscal year which ends on 31 July 2008. The network can cover costs for travel and housing, but not for salaries, laboratory supplies and/or equipment. There are no formal limits for the length of stays. A budget of NOK 100.000 is reserved. The steering committee will evaluate the applications on a rolling basis with the first deadline set for 15 March 2008. Please send your applications (max. 4 pages) that includes contact information, a description of the visit with study plan, time table and budget, to the coordinator (garry.wong (??) uku.fi). |

The first network meeting will take place at the First Hotel Royal Star, Alvsjö, Stockholm beginning at 14.00 on February 1 and conclude with departure on Sunday, February 3. The meeting is open to everyone interested in C. elegans and is primarily aimed at people in the Nordic area. Members of the Nordic C. elegans Network will be able to attend this meeting for free (group leaders in single room, postdocs and students share a double room, meals provided). People in the Stockholm area do not stay overnight at the hotel but participate in the meals. A limited amount of funds is also available for travel (< 300 €/person limited to the number of researchers/students per group listed in the original grant application). For meeting and hotel registration, the network member/group leader should collect from their lab the list of participants: NAME, SEX, Presenting talk (Y/N) and Title and send to Thomas Burglin by 17.1.2008 at the latest.
