A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Lisa Salcini at BRIC, University of Copenhagen. The group has two lines of research. One focused on identifying and characterizing novel genes and mechanisms involved in epigenetics; the other on endocytosis. Project description The project is a “Program of Excellence grant”, funded by The University of Copenhagen. The project focuses on the biological and functional characterization of a newly identified family of enzymes involved in chromatin remodeling. The genetic model system C. elegans will be used to analyze role of these chromatin modifiers in vivo. In particular, we are interested in understanding histone methylation dynamics and its role in embryonic and postembryonic development. Qualifications We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic scientist, with a PhD in Life Sciences. Strong experience in molecular, cellular biology and/or protein biochemistry is essential. Previous experience in C. elegans genetics is desirable, but not essential. Application deadline: September 24, 2008 at 12.00. Application received later or by electronic mail will not be taken into account.
